BX8's are nice... Read the manual carefully though - The Acoustic Space switch works opposite as it would seem (You get the most low end at "-4" - I'd use THAT as a starting point instead of "0").

For the bucks, they're hard to beat.

I have 'em and I think they are good for the price. I honestly haven't futzed around with the acoustic space toggle much, I just set it in the recommended setting and forget about it. I had a bad input jack on one of mine that they fixed fairly quickly and painlessly, so that is good. I find them a bit bright, so I am still getting used to how crispy I need to mix everything; and I even have the high-end cut -4db. Although they have an 8" woofer, I think I will still get a sub to help check the bass. What I can compare them too are the usually consumer stereos and computer speakers, some Mackie's and some Alesis M1's. Definitely beat the Aleses (pl?) and I don't think they are far off from the Mackies.

PS: If I could do it over, I might have gotten the BX5's w/ that M-audio sub. I guess they match up real well.

In that price range I would suggest the Yamaha MSP5. The price is amazingy low, the quality is excellent and personally I think they sound much better than Samson, Behringer and M-Audio speakers in the same price range.

Reggie - That's exactly what I'm talking about. Try cutting the A.S. switch to -4 and your high cut to either 0 or -2... Enjoy the bass.
