I'm looking for a dynamic mic for vocal recordings. I had acceptable results with an Sennheiser E835 in the past, and good results with an MD 422.
There is, of course, the 58, but it feels a little... ehhmm... standard...
How does it compare to the 422, the beta 57 or the evolution mics?
I know the 57 can be cool, but I want something with an build-in windshield... maybe the Beta 57?
The style I'm aiming at is [clean] pop/rock.

I bought two om2's not long ago, and they are very good.
I've been using them on Vox, snare, and percussion, and I'm as happy if not happier than using an SM57. Different flavour, less harsh in general, a bit more true to the source perhaps? Which isn't always what you want :)
