Well after giving it some thought over the last few weeks, I finally decided to purchase the 4000e. I did this based on the reviews/raves given on this forum. I know most people would say thats not so smart, should hear it first and all that. Unfortunately I didn't have that opportunity. I figure even if it's half as good as most people say, for that price I'll take my chance. Anyways I've done that twice before, with my buzz MA2.2 and my first Royer SF-1. Both those purchases turned out to be right on the money, no regrets what so ever. Thanks for the heads up on this pre. ;)

Just received the 2 channel Sebatron VMP-2000e
last week. Bought it sight unseen, took the gamble. No regrets what so ever. Been using it on almost everything and my mixes sound so much larger than before. Definitely a solid value considering sound and price!

Well I've had it for a few days now and first impressions are great. I really need to spend time with a pre and get few songs under my belt before I can give are real valid opinion.
One of the first things i tried it on was a moog. Ran the moog through the instrument/DI. Kicked in the low boost and wow. I didn't expect that. Felt like i had run it through a tube teck eq. Already I know it's gona be great as a synth and bass DI.
Today I had a friend come over to do some vocal tests. We compared it to the Buzz using a TLM 103, GT am62, Royer SF-1 and a shure 58. For him I liked the TLM103 with the seb on the "air" setting. His voice didn't react to well when the seb was driven.
The Seb doesn't have the same kind of openness that the buzz has. Not with eq flat anyways. However thats not why I got it. I already had my clean transformerless pre. It does however have the tube "thang" everyone say it has. This I can't really relay it just feels more harmonically rounded (whatever that means).
I'm looking forward to experimenting with more instruments in conjunction with the various eq and pad settings.
Thanks again for the heads up. So far I'm loving it.
:c:

I was in a similar situation. I took a gamble and rolled a good one! The 4000e is a solid unit that sounds great. I sincerely doubt you'll be disappointed. Quite the opposite...
