If your recording a kit and your mics are out of phase, can you reverse it in the mix! :?

I'm not sure what you do or don't know about phase and polarity but usually you can only flip or invert the signals of different tracks 180 degrees. What you can do however to try and minimize the effects of phasing is to try and get the individual recorded tracks' amplitude peaks and transients in line as much as possible. Depending on how you recorded you could use the bleed to your advantage as a road map. For example, take the overhead mics and look for a transient from the snare bleed and move the individual snare track in time to match up as best as possible. Repeat this process until you are satisfied. You can also use the kick or snare or hi-hat mic as a road map for nudging, just make sure you are using the same starting place each time. This won't get things perfect but it works for me in a fix.
