I've managed to get a tape jammed in my Fostex D10 DAT recorder. Most of the tape transport lights are flashing and the big display shows Err codE 007 (which probably translates to "some stupid plonker has put a broken tape in me"). Anyone know how to get the tape out? Power cycling certainly doesn't help. I bet there's some kind of button pressing combination that forces eject.

throw it away
Sierously, you can take the top off of the unit and should be able to get it out that way. Make sure you get it serviced. There's something wrong with it if you got a tape jammed

Four rack bolts and ten self-tappers later and the lid's off and with a bit of gear twiddling, the tape is extracted (and binned). Not sure what caused it - perhaps it just needs a head clean?

Great!
It might be something with the pinch roller....cleaning could help. I'd have it checked out though. Loosing a tape in the middle of a good take is never good for anyone...if you know what I mean.
