Hey everyone...I bought my iMac, DP, and an external FW drive. Now I need to learn how the hell DP works. I think I'm just overwhelmed with trying to learn the quirks (or lack of) with OSX since I'm new to it, and I haven't used any recording software other than Cubase SX. Needless to say, I'm pretty lost right now!
Have any of you bought the teaching DVD's from Guitar Center that is specific to the software that you are running? Are they any good? I just want to get the basics and navigation down quickly because I have some projects happening soon.
Oh yeah. Mac rocks! It took me a whole 20 minutes to install all of my plugs, software, hard drive, RAM, and get my FW1884 controlling DP.

It's been a long haul . I'm not very technical minded though. All I had was the manual and a cool school interactus volume 6 for dp3 . Thomson course technology 79 us dollars. There is .... as I read the back of the cover  csi volume 9 Pp4. Get all you can afford and study hard.
good luck dude

I've been using DP for a couple of years now, and found the manual to be helpful when I have specific questions. Other than that it was a lot of trial and error, most DAW's share certain qualities that can be transferred.
PM me with any questions, I'd be happy to help. Good Luck.
Also, http://www.unicornation.com is a great helpful board just for MOTU stuff.
Check it out.

I've been using DP on my Mac's for about 3 years now...have to say I am pretty damn happy with the whole set up.
One of the books I bought was Digital Performer Ignite and it is in my opinion one of the better books out there for DP (there aren't many of them). Other than that I kinda taught myself DP (I didn't have anyone to show me the ins and outs of the program) so I would say it is completly possible to navigate your way thru it, with some time of course....
