For most people, I don't think the platinum bundle offers a worthwhile improvement over the gold bundle. There are only a couple of new plugs that I find essential, namely the Rchannel and the LinEQ, but for most apps, a person can get by quite well with their gold analogs. Also, I haven't noticed any sonic improvement in the L2.

I'm pretty happy with the Gold Bundle and wanted to get some input on the platinum bundle. I think you answered my question. The additional $600.00 for the Platinum Bundle can be better spent elsewhere.

For less money than the upgrade you can get CurveEQ and the Elephant limiter from http://www.voxengo.com. They are far superior than anything Waves has to offer.

Oh dear, that's rotten luck!

But fear not, have a quick peak at http://www.pspaudioware.com/ for a nice limiter/maximizer that doesn't have that awful harsh character of the L1/L2. And check out http://www.sonalksis.com for one of the nicest eqs around. And they even work on OSX!!!

Unfortunately for mac users, it seems that the most exciting plugin developments are for PC only. (And no, I'm not gloating, honest!)
