Currently have Waves Gold Bundle is it worth it to upgrade to Platinum. I'm mostly interested in the L2. Is the L2 that much better than the L1 in the Gold bundle?
The new URS EQ, has anyone tried it. How does it compare to the RenEQ?

For less money than the upgrade you can get CurveEQ and the Elep
For less money than the upgrade you can get CurveEQ and the Elephant limiter from http://www.voxengo.com. They are far superior than anything Waves has to offer.

Oh dear, that's rotten luck!
But fear not, have a quick peak at http://www.pspaudioware.com/ for a nice limiter/maximizer that doesn't have that awful harsh character of the L1/L2. And check out http://www.sonalksis.com for one of the nicest eqs around. And they even work on OSX!!!
Unfortunately for mac users, it seems that the most exciting plugin developments are for PC only. (And no, I'm not gloating, honest!)

For most people, I don't think the platinum bundle offers a worthwhile improvement over the gold bundle. There are only a couple of new plugs that I find essential, namely the Rchannel and the LinEQ, but for most apps, a person can get by quite well with their gold analogs. Also, I haven't noticed any sonic improvement in the L2.
