Hi Sebatron ,
I have a post in Pro Audio forum. Some models have optional VU meters, and others do not have like 4000e. It is an quite expensive adds-on.
What is your opinion? Can a Sebatron be possibly damaged without a VU meter? is VU meter in the signal chain? that may affect signal in any way?
Thanks.

No.
Maybe if you dropped it in water.

is VU metar in the signal chain? that may effect signal in any way?

Our VU meters are driven by completely seperate buffers that monitor the output level without any loading on the signal at all.
This offers complete isolation between output signal and any meter artifacts....

There are no real advantages to having meters or not...
The more Pro Studios prefer them becuase they look good to clients .....
Sometimes in live situations they are also desirable as an indication of 'signal present' in cases of fault finding...
They don't actually indicate the headroom of the unit as the circuit has a Huge dynamic range.

Long Live Titan. 8-)

Any reason that Sebatron didn't go with a LED type meter. Kind of more like what API uses and Great River?
They should make the UV meter unit, and the LED meter unit.
For one reason...there would always be a meter on the unit's face plate
For the other reason...you wouldn't have some know it all (like me) asking you dumb questions
I know, I know...it's all about the $$$$$
And no UV meter's cut the cost a little more.

Hi guys,
Sebatron, I've recently had a look at a second hand thorax unit which is cosmetically different to the ones I've seen on your site.
This unit is a light blue-face, and has an LED meter as well as a VU.The rest of it was pretty much the same as the black face model.
When would you have built these?Would they be one of the first Thorax puppies?

Thanks

that was the first Units the blue ones....
Sebatron let me ask something...!!!Long as we are talkin about metering...How do I know if I'm overloading the preamp ---is it only if i hear distortion  I been doing vocals without a pad and it seems to be working good ///do you think i should be using the pad/ :!:
