The Lawson AIR is superb for vocals, and the Shure KSM44 works well for a voice/guitar mic. The AT4050, is, like the 414 and the 44, a multi-pattern mic, so it has real flexibilty to handle lots of situations. My brother-in-law had a SolidTube and ditched it pretty quickly. It just didn't have a very smooth,LD sound and the Chinese tube in it kept "spitting". I recently purchased an AT4047/SV and love it.

For the price, I am just blown away by this mic.
