This one intrigued me as I just came across it.

The "ACPI or Standard Mode?" got me. It seems like a pain in the butt to do, having to reinstall all my drivers.
But is it worth it? Does anyone know about this?
What other tweaks do users here find important? What are your paging file (virtual memory) settings?
This is where I did most of my tweaking from before:

I got a gig of DDR400 ram if that means anything.
Thanks!
It all depends on the amount of ram in your system to begin with.
What are you concerns that you are trying to tweak?
I have a default xp installation and only turned of a few services. I'm getting on avg 30 plug ins per session and only using about %50 of my cpu.

Just trying to optimize my system.
I just said I have a gig of ram.

Forget it. This is a tweak from the past. You definitely don't want to do this on current mainboards / PCs, it's either useless or even counterproductive.
The reason is the so called APIC (Advanced Programmable Interrupt Controller), which will allow e.g. for more interrupts. Only an ACPI installation will support this.
As far as the swap file is concerned, it's good to keep it at a fixed size.
