I have an RME 9632. I also have 2 peices of gear w/ word clock 'puts. I am thinking of getting the optional RME w/c module, it has one IN and two OUTS.
After doing a bit of reading, I am still wondering if I need to go w/c in my small setup?
Is it true that, if I use my AES/EBU or SPDIF conections, w/c is already imbedded?
How "far" does this carry? In other words, is w/c sync'd only between those two devices, or all (more than two) devices using AES/EBU connected to eachother?
Would it be better to use the RME's two w/c out, into the 2 other units?
Help me before I buy. ... THX-RR

WC is included in both AES and S/PDIF formats. Whether an external WC will help improve your sound depends on on a few things, one of is your signal and monitoring ablity to hear any difference. You only can try it and see if it makes a difference or rather a big enough difference that your willing to pay for.
In general, a dedicated WC is meant for sending the exact same clk to multiple digital devices at the same time rather than using some sort of daisy chain clk method.

the clock on the rme is pretty good.. so buy the wc-option and use it as master for the other devices...
and then when you get more things.... buy a wc generator.... i love the rosendahl btw
