Does anyone know how to sync up a Otari MTR-90 with Pro Tools using a Emagic Unitor 8 mk2?
Or even use Logic 8 or Cubase 4.5.
Any information is greatly appreciated

Yea I like to get all base's covered. for the time being I think I will try and get the Otari as the master controller as funds are limited now. Its just so we can record the same signal onto DAW and tape at the same time to do a A-B comparsion (I work in education so having the ability to do the basics will be a great example)
This might be a good place to start.

Basically you need a way to vary the transport on the Otari. They made a sync card I believe that did that.
Once you have that, then you can use a master clock to control both PT and the Otari.
Plan B is to have the Otari be the master which would require a smpte track on tape, and have PT vary it's sample rate to match the tiny fluctuations of the tape machine. The Unitor should be able to handle the job, but I'm guessing that would put you into Logic8 for the Daw end.
Just realized it was you who posted that thread at AVID.
Never mind.
OTOH - it looks like you got some decent responses there.
onward.
