I don't personally put any faith in those types of applications. Correcting modes in a room is a science in itself. The idea that a person could do any better with an app and eq is kind of ridiculous. IMHO.
My room has been treated from the design team from AURALEX, but only to treat half of what they suggested in the blue print. So my though was to compensate for the rest with this application, and my friend is giving it me to, so no monies wasted there. But in the future I sure would like to finish the treatment when funds allow.

Hi Steve, I'm using the even ps8's, and they are not translating well to me in the high end, when I go to burn a session to CD it's sounds really treblely. The room has been treated very well, but the highs are great when mixing, only when burning to Cd it changes really trebely.
I personally would try to mix knowing that the treble isn't coming through before spending that type of money on the software. I bet you can correct that problem without ARC just using your intuition.

Too much absorption. Not enough reflective surface. Sometimes it's better to invest in deflectors than absorption. Ideally you want to use both. I have issues with the same thing right now though I have a lot of reflective surface still exposed. My room has some issues that I'm still trying to sort out. I think I've narrowed it down though.
it basically shoots a sine wave out of your speakers, then uses a reference mic to determine what freqs are effected by your room and corrects them using eq

I haven't heard one bad review from the ARC, but it does mention to make sure you turn it off when bouncing down.

A little reflective surfaces do make things sound a little more
