I just got my bi directional mic. Anyone here use m/s technique for only one guitar player, and don't want to double guitar parts, or have the gtr get in the way in the mix. Seems real interesting, because you can sort of choose the width of the mono guitar it seems. at least in theory, since i've yet to try it.

Are you talking about miking an acoustic guitar or miking an electric guitar cabinet? What make and model of "bi directional mic" did you get?
I've done it, and was very pleased with it. It was spacious in

Keep in mind you must track in a good room because the room ambiance will be a part of the sound.
The Pros here can give you better advice than me, though.
