If that were the case there would be no reason to buy a mac again. Wouldn't that be a beautiful world. I think it is possible by not legal. I know people use boot camp to run windows on a mac though.

Or just go with a new Mac Mini Lion Server. We just had a couple of recent threads on this particular Mini and it looks hugely promising even if I am not a Mac fan.

Your real problem with force feeding a Mac OS onto a basic entry level pc desktop/laptop is the core components. Apple really does have quality control in mind when they spec out their machines. Toshiba, while I like them generally these days, and others don't have that same idea in mind. They sell enough and make enough machines that they are happier to just swap a bad one out Also, there are qualities to the mobo routing and peripheral routing controls that they don't care about.

All that said, there are quality pc based components out there otherwise none of us would use pc based machines. Heck, Apple is now using "pc based" components just with better QC. But you are better off rolling your own in this case rather than utilizing a prebuilt low end/entry level machine. For best results stick with a server class machine/components from this C2Duo era.

Wasn't there recently a thread posted here about hackintoshes? Use the search function. While I've never tried it, some people have supposedly been able to successfully use one of these systems to run a Mac OS on a PC.
