I am the president of a colligate audio production society. I am doing a little research on different carear paths in the audio industry. I would love to know what people are doing, and how they got there. If you would be kind enough to post some ideas that would be greatly appreciated.

Personally I am working towards a bachelors in communications with hope to go into broadcast or audio post productions. Like most of the people in our society I have a passion for audio, but I'm not exactly sure what I want/can do with it.

Thanks a lot,

Nate

Nate, great question. I, too, am interested in hearing the responses from the pros on this board. I'm an electrical engineer by schooling and occupation, and a musician in my spare time. I wished I'd seen a career path that would've let me combine the 2 into a profession when I was graduating from high school. Heck, I'm not quite 40. Maybe I'll learn I still have time to take my remaining 20+ years before retirement in a different direction....

One of the most lucrative career option in the music industry is of a Music Producer. A music producer carries out most of the responsibility of the recording project, but he/she also gets the utmost of creative freedom -- which often results in the most enjoyable and gratifying job in the studio process. If you have strong drive and determination, a genuine feel for music, then a career in music production is waiting for you.
