I’m pretty sure DonnyThompson is a drummer as well as singer and guitarist. He might know the answer to this. I’m not sure who around here is classically trained, particularly for drums.

Thanks man -- I did have someone reach out to me and say it usually means a double strike, so in this case two 32nd notes

It's a double stroke roll, 8th note... meaning the drum should be struck at an 8th note interval fore the duration of the note.
2 slashes indicate 16th's, 3 indicates 32'nd, etc.

Ya -- I had to dig deep into drum notation to confirm that I was not a drag because lots of folks thought it was a drag but Donny is right that it's a double stroke. A drag looks like 2 little flam notes.. That's a ruff or a double.. 2 notes per written note value
