I’m pretty sure @DonnyThompson is a drummer as well as singer and guitarist. He might know the answer to this. I’m not sure who around here is classically trained, particularly for drums.

It's a double stroke roll, 8th note... meaning the drum should be struck at an 8th note interval fore the duration of the note.
2 slashes indicate 16th's, 3 indicates 32'nd, etc.
