Is it a full version and not the updater from 9? If so, any interface should work and work well. Go to the DUC and look around. I'm sure this question has been asked and answered there a hundred times.

yup full version but so goofy. Hard to keep trying to like this DAW when I can't even set-up basic IO like all other DAW's do in seconds. Hours on it and so frustrated. Thanks Dave, I'll look around some more at the DUC.

I sure liked the older version (5 and 6.1) compared. Its been years since I used PT. Forcing myself so I will be able to load sessions for clients.

I should mention that this is the 30 trail.

I'll get back to you on this. I/O configuration can be a bit of a pain. As long as you have the lastest ASIO drivers everything should be OK but sometimes, PT wants to make you default to a certain driver.

Finally Got it.

Had to disable other audio devises (why they activated is beyond me) remove and reinstall PT and it shows my interfaces. Works excellent now. Happy and now homework to get up to snuff.

Glad you got it figured out. I downloaded the trial but never installed it. Installation requires you to uninstall your current version, which means If I don't buy PT10 I have to uninstall it and reinstall PT9. Still holding out for PT11. Shouldn't be too long. Unless of course they actually learned a lesson from their last release.

I should add, appears all this would have been avoided if I just clicked the default in the IO Setup. Clicking default finds all your interfaces right away.

First impression listening to the demo ( not that I want this to turn into a PT bash because I really want to use it):
Pro Tools definitely has a sound and it isn't pretty. I immediately hear the zzzy sound that I rant about. The vocal track on this is terrible sounding compared to what I consider good. Actually the entire track sounds no better than my old Mix Plus system sitting in the closet for the last 4 years now. lol or erk, not sure duh.

It sounds thin , edgy and lacks depth. Disappointing after all this anticipation.

I like the quickness of this though and it is tight. From a real console feel, Samplitude ROCKs compared. But I'll give it a month.

Chris, I wouldnt put too much stock in the sound of the demo. Probably recorded with stock Avid or M-Audio preamps.......VECKHH....Your sound will depend entirely on how you hit the thing with your analog.

Also, pay strict attention to all the suggestions of stuff to disable to get optimum performance. Set your processor number in your playback at less than the number available in your machine. Always use the latency and delay compensation. The elastic audio could be your friend if you do a lot of electronica.

I'm upgrading at PT11.....Unless they didnt learn anyt..............oh wait.....AHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I'm using PT9.0.5. I could upgrade another notch but dont want to. I was going to move into 10 but since there seems to only be a year window before they go to 11 I dont see the need. There may be things in 10 I'm missing but from the reviews and the updates I've seen it doesnt really seem to be much.
