I am a musician of about 25 yrs or so...give or take, but not playing pro at this time. I am new to digital recording...totally green, you might say. I have used various Tascam anolog machines over the years, but not anything on a computer before. I am looking for help with a couple of things. I just bought a new computer for the sole purpose of recording. It's an AMD Barton xp2600+ running about 1.9 ghz, 512ddr ram, 40 G-HD, as well as a 80 G external drive, with an Edirol UA-25 for audio interface, Win2K Pro. I have played around a bit with cool edit pro, but still need help.
My questions are:

1. What other software do you recommend for recording on computer?

2. What sites do you recommend for help and/or tutorials on mixing, recording and such.

3. Windows tweaks for audio recording?
