Hey RO'ers, I need some concrete advice. I am in the process of editing one of our songs to be played on the radio, and I was wondering how can I get clean edits of particular words using Pro Tools. I am editing the words using the mute function, but I notice that on some of the mutes you can tell when the audio drops out and comes back in. Does anyone know how I can do this to get a clean mute? Do I need to find a clean piece of audio before and after the particular words? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Thanks David, I'll try that. Hey what part of Indiana are you from? I was born and raised in Fort Wayne, until I moved to Michigan six years ago. Still got love for everything that has to do with IN. Thanks a lot.

I'm guessing you're hearing clicks where the audio stops? Try volume automation or cutting the waveform region and fading the edges.
There's lots of room to get creative here, too. Heard Black Eyes Peas 'Beep'? I prefer fun edits to silence anyday.
