I was wondering...I have the M-Audio Mobile preUSB and Cakewalk Project 5 and I have to record through Windows sound recorder and I import the audio file to Project 5...the sound recorder only lets me record for a minute...does anyone know why? or a way to record longer?

When I first started with my DAW, I was using a combination of Audacity, Acid Express, and Cubasis to record some stuff. All of these freeware programs have their limitations, but some have functions that the others don't. But you can save yourself a lot of trouble by buying a REAL recording program. The Cakewalk Home Studio/Guitar Tracks stuff is fairly cheap.
