I have the chance to get them quite cheap. .
around 1100USD including shipping.
So far I have Tannoy Reveal (passive) powered with a Studer A68, and a piar of PMC AB1, that don't seems to couple well with my room lately (that is, after I got the Reveal).
Anywa, I've heard some good things about the JBL.

teh tannoy are great too, a ton better than the usual NS10, and they have a very low fatigue.
speaking about the JBL, do you really think they cover the entire audio spectrum??
I mean, never felt you need a sub, or there was not enough shacking goin on.
I will need them too get loud volume for clients, and I think that a good does of low end extension will help to impress'em.
thanx

I am in the "got them love them" camp. Just finished a first majore artist album recorded and mixed on LSR28P. The results translate with flying colors to the real world.
I am happy with mine - you? You will have to go out and listen to make sure you can live with them. Every monitor has its color and its up to you to decide if this color is for you.

I don't really think any one monitor covers the entire audio spectrum well. The trick is to just find a set that works well with the way you do, and learn their strengths and weaknesses. For me, the JBL's work best. As far as the low end goes it really depends on your room/monitoring environment. Originally I bought the JBL's w/ the sub (sometimes I do film mixes in here). But as soon as I set them up, it was immediatley VERY obvious that it was WAY overkill... I returned it. YMMV
Good luck,

I have my LSR28 + sub here at Soundelux Microphones and my Tannoys (nfm8)at home.
I have always found small speakers to be a wrecthed alternative to real (soffit mounted BIG) speakers.
The LSR is the first speaker I've heard that removes the box distortion from the equation, for which I am thankful. After using these, all the others seem like toys....
Got them... love them. For that price I'd say get them. Onc

love them.
For that price I'd say get them. Once you do, you won't believe what you've been missing listening to those Tannoys.
Good luck
