I am new to recording, have encountered a puzzling problem.
I am using Cool Edit Pro 2.0, and while in the program the .wav file plays as it should, but if i play the same file in another program (winamp) for example its all crackily. Did i just forget to filter somthing. I don't even know where to start looking.
Any help would be appreaciated.

yes...its the sample rate problem. either ur soundcard cannot support the rates or the configuration in the software went wrong. look at ur soundcard's maximum sample. if ur using a non-pro soundcard, then put ur sample rate in 44khz or 48khz. if u are using a pro soundcard, then use at 96khz.

Are you abel to monitor CPU usage? If you have lots of tracks then keep in mind that with programs like Nuendo you have to DISABLE tracks (not mute) otherwise those tracks are sucking up processing power. It's as if they were all playing.
