hi,

am using a mini-me and a Audio-Technica (at3035).
working with cubase.

I was wondering how come i can't get a good sound setting and keep having better result using 44/16/24 than 48/24 khz. The sound quality when using 48/24 is really bad considering everything i have. any1 know anything i could do or anything about the Apogeemini-me and how to set it well?

It might be that whatever you're using for output is running at 44KHz which causes dropouts when it has to resample from 48K on the fly.

You could double check that the entire everything is running at 48K and if it still happens, stick with 44K.

Most people will tell you to stick with 44/24 or possibly 44/16 if you are short on storage space. Unless you're working with video which is the whole reason 48K exists.

Yep, if you're only working in audio (for CD or MP3), you should stick with 44/24 or 44/16. The so-called improvement in specs at 48k are lost when 'gear-boxing" back down to 44k. The trade-off is simply not worth it overall.

You system may be glitching at 48k (as already pointed out by CodeMonkey), or it may be bad sample rate conversion. (There are some GOOD converters out there, and there are some not-so-good converters as well.)

Even so, I suspect there's something not quite right in your setup, if your'e hearing an obvious difference between the two. You shouldn't.

yep but even before that when i simply listen to the track (in cubase) i just recorded (either in 48/24 or 44/24) i see a difference between 44/24 and 48/24

and i alway double check evertyhing is on 48/24 before i do (sound card , software)

when recoridng using 48/24 the only way to get something listenable is to almost close the mic volume on the mini-me wich is not normal. but still i used to have better sound with 44/16 or 44/24.
