For new G5's, most prices are probably going to be fairly similar where ever you go.

However, you might still have time to do what I did, if you don't want one of the "brand new" models. I went to my local Apple Store, and asked them if they had any of the discontinued dual 2.0 G5's in back. They just happened to have an open box deal on one because the guy that had just bought it earlier in the day returned it to get a dual 2.3.

I ended up getting it for less than the current price of an also discontinued dual 1.8, and it works flawlessly.

Only downside (for some) is that it didn't come with OS 10.4, but I have it already.

Apple pretty much controls the price, but third party vendors offer bundles, and upgrades as incentive.
