The Right Laptop for Firewire Audio Cards

HI :D

I'm still looking for a laptop for my TC Electronic konnekt 8...

It's very difficult for me.

I know about problems on toshiba laptops(with konnekt) and firewire chipset that aren't Texas Instruments...

I saw some brands like ADK, RAinrecordings, Sonica... but i live in Italy and they there are not here (and there's no support center).

So, Please, can you recommend me some laptop brand and model that work with konnekt 8?

I can buy a second-hand MAcbook pro 15' 2.4Ghz in mint condition.

It's a September 2007 macbbook pro.

Now...is it a Santarosa? Is it Texas iNstruments or Agere chipset?

Is it a good choice?

Look into add-in cards. (Such as PCMCIA or Express Card).

I use one manufactured by SIIG which does use the TI chipset with an RME Fireface and a Konnekt 24 with no issues.

that does not help with newer dual core
it will at best allow the interface to be recognized where it previously did not
