Hi, I was just wondering real quick, where should the dynamic mic be placed in relation to the mouth if you want it to pick up higher frequencies?

I always though the rule with vocal dynamics is mic angled up toward the mouth just under or level with the top lip so that the vocalist is singing across the mic and not "into" it. Distance I think is just a matter of back up till it doesn't clip. Usually between 4-6"
With such a small area to ideally place the mic, I don't think you can really play with the angle too much and I doubt there would be any real difference unless you are drastically changing the angle like singing into the side of the mic. I don't know why anyone would want to do that though.

Above the mouth, facing down at the mouth, is supposedly supposed to get those nasal higher frequencies. I've never used it myself. I get the best HF response singing directly into the mic. Maybe an inch or more away if you don't want the prox effect to kick in.
Then again, there's always EQ?
