I'm pretty excited, with my hard-earned money I ordered the Firebox bundle that sells at musiciansfriend along with an SM57. I plan to do a memory and harddrive upgrade for my computer too and start my home recording! I just thought I'd share that, and thanks to everyone that helped me to this decision and helped me understand more about recording (not to mention I got LOTS to learn still).

Hi hxckid88, I purchased a firebox about 2 months ago after about a year of agonizing over whether I should get an "all in one studio in a box" or go the computer route. I'm glad I went with the computer. I have had no technical issues with the Firebox whatsoever. However I've had many issues with my own incompetence. It comes with Cubase LE which is an entry level version but very powerful for us newbies. I would suggest getting a pair of studio monitors, I'm glad I did. I don't think average speakers will work very well.
I have gotten good responses from this forum when I've posted a question so don't hesitate to ask anything. I'll try to help if I can, but I'm just starting out to. Good luck!!

Haha. I do plan to actually upgrade my Cubase to a greater version if I really get along with the program. I've been using Audacity and it's simple enough for me, but it lacks alot of features. I know i'll love my firebox, not to mention it comes with M-Audio DX4 monitors. Low-end budget monitors but it is worth it.
