OK, i'm finally going to build my own studio in part of a warehouse. my space is 30' x 30' i'm going to have a control room, 2 small instrument rooms, and a large band room (mainly for drums, and the whole band to stand in, with their amps obviously in one of the other rooms.

what kind of material would you use for the Drum room, Instrument room A, and instrument room B?

any suggestions are greatly appreciated :D

good call,,, unfortunately i live in charlotte nc,,, all my favorite recordings took place in either england or seattle.

what i'm really looking for is if anyone knows the what the differences are in, for say, woodin walls, brick walls, tile, sheet rock, etc,... and the "WHY's" i guess that's more what i'm asking,,, what do these materials do to color your sound??

For sound isolation you might want to look into: Aercoustics https://aercoustics…

I recently "soundproofed" a basement room using stud walls built away from existing concrete walls, vinyl barrier, resilient channel, and two layers of 5/8" sheet rock. I then stumbled upon this site and they make some pretty impressive claims. I wish I would have found it before starting my project.
