Hi,
I've run into a curious phenomenon whilst using Waves X Crackle.
I'm using on a 24 bit stereo mix. There are places where the guitars seemed to be 'crackling' somewhat. The plugin did just the job, getting rid of the unwanted noise with no noticeable difference to the overall sound.
But now the track is clipping in some places. Previously it was peaking at -.3, and now there a few places where it's in the red.
So, how come? Do I have to lower the gain before applying the plugin ? That would be annoying. And there is no output gain control on the plugin itself.
Any ideas? Thanks...

Thanks,
It looks like I have to lower the overall gain by 6 to 7 dB for the new 'peaks' that appear after applying the plugin to be below clipping point.
