Not for the first time and I hate myself for it. I had to format my pc due to some issues that are now sorted. And I'm sure many people will know what's coming next. Waves (not so good) licence.

I purchased Waves Diamond for $349 just about 3 1/2 years ago. When my motherboard failed, I replaced it and I was given a new Windows product key (no charge by Microsoft by the way). I wound up having to "recover" my Waves license. As it turned out, the motherboard that I bought was a lemon, so I just got a new computer, and once again I was prompted to "recover" my Waveslicense again.

this is a pretty cool video, even if it is a promo. glad people are gonna be informed about this great technique! i hope they end up trying the technique, and not just going the plugin route only.

Hey everyone! It's been a few years since I've been an Avid forum user, but this place profoundly shaped my life and career when I was a young engineer. I kinda want to start by thanking all of the veteran users (I don't know how many are still here haha), but I do have a question about a process I've been trying to figure out for a few days now..

Something worth sharing from the Waves Audiophiles facebook page...

Yeah, it's obviously self-promotion, but it's interesting to hear the "behind the scenes" guys in R&D and Development talk about what they do. Too often, Waves only promotes their list of famous producers and engineers who have signed on as endorsees; but it's not as if guys like CLA or Dave Pensado are actually designing these processors...

I was putting the beginnings of a mix together this morning, working with the drum tracks.

The kick and snare are both live - the kick is an ancient Ludwig 22" from the 60's; it looks like it's been run over by a truck, but it sure still sounds good. ;) ( I have three vintage snares, a '68 Black Beauty, a '71 Suprasonic, and a Rogers wood snare).

I downloaded a trial version of it yesterday. It's pretty close, considering it's missing all the wiring and electronics - not to mention the actual 1073 preamp - that makes up the real thing.

This is a collection of tools, including EQ, Gain Reduction, Reverb, Multi-Band Compression, Maximizer, Exciter and Imager. I downloaded a 10 day trial of this prog yesterday; I had heard from a few engineer friends that they thought it was pretty decent, so I thought I'd give it a go.
