I have selfproduced (i.e. recorded and mixed) an album of ten tracks and want to have it mastered for both digital and physical distribution. (this is the second album, the first one - currently on iTunes under AWAL distribution - was mastered by myself, but this time i would like to have a professional service done).
After having contacted about 20 mastering studios and received their economic offers for an online mastering service, and before making my decision, i think it's a good point to ask for positive experiences from members of this community.
To be clear, I am not asking for negative feedbacks, as i don't want anyone's reputation to be spoiled by public comments here. Just give me your suggestions for any studio you found delivering a satisfactory and professional service.
(My genre is indie rock and my budget is about 500-600 euros).

Lots of duplicating plants are now offering mastering services. Generally they seem to be around the $500 US area. Some as low as $295 US. But if you already have a superb mix? What kind of mastering do you think you need? A simple normalization may be all that's required? But if you want special EQ tweaks and special dynamics processing, you might want a professional? Basically what that says to me is you lack confidence in your own capabilities. Mastering is not a magic pill. It's very important for some and nearly unnecessary for others. I've never really had anything mastered that I haven't mastered myself except for vinyl. But that's a whole different lost dog story.

Now, I am trying to stay exclusively digital, and to transfer everything via the internet. I found an online mastering service called Little Major Productions. I haven't used them yet, but their samples sound pretty good. Also, they will send you a demonstration of what they can do with your work. If you aren't impressed, you don't have to pay them so there is nothing to loose. I plan on trying them out with my current project.
I put a link to them on homerecording.com and then got banned for spamming. Crazy, seeing as how I don't even know them. Regardless, I am not going to try it again, so you will have to look them up yourself.
