I'm starting to see adds for a new WAVES bundle which includes the new "Linear Phase" Equalizer and "Linear Phase" Multiband Comp as well as the L2 Ultramaximizer. I've been thinking for a while about upgrading to the L2 anyway from my L1+, as well as aiming to get the Sony Oxford EQ. What I'm wondering is, anyone tried these new "Phase Linear" plugins and if so, how does the EQ compare to the Sony? (They got some guy in the ad saying it's challenges his Weiss and Manley hardware... well... he wouldn't of said it if it wasn't true. would he?)
If it's even in the ballpark, might be much more economical for me to buy the whole Waves bundle (rather than the Sony) - probably more DSP efficient as well.
I suppose this might belong on the DAW side of the forum, but to be honest, there's a lot more action over here...

Thanks Bill! Just curious... is the Sony Oxford EQ among the 400plug-ins (Damn - it must take you 5 minutes to scroll all the way through your plug-in list!)
There's a Digi sponsored "Plug-In Tour" hitting the dealers in the next few weeks. Hopefully they'll have both Waves and Sony represented, so maybe I'll be able to check it out for myself.

ld,
I have the whole Waves bundle including the new mastering modules. They sound great! I also have a loaded tc system6000 as well as Manley VariMu and Massive Passive and the Waves stuff stands up.
It's not the same as the Manley stuff but it does the best job of any plug,
cheers,
JC
