I master on my own. Or better said I try to :)

My problems + questions

1) With TC Finalizer I have distortion so I cannot make my song really loud.

2) Except the dist. my drums are not that loud as in the mix. This happened with the L-1 too.

3) I get the L-2 as hardware in 2 or 3 days. Do you think that these 2 boxes can make my dream come true?

4) If yes what's the best way to work with these 2 boxes at the same time?

Thank you and PROST!

The most of the time no. The problem isbthat there's no funktion to make the file louder like with a plug in.
Ok there's the normalizer but it doesn't make it better at all. I don't think that I overcompress it.
I tested really alot but every help is wellcome of course.
Thank you

I used to use a Finalizer96k, and now I'm using the Waves Masters bundle, including the L2.

With the Finalizer, there is a page where you can see the levels of the signal as it passes through each stage, ie: EQ, Normalizer, Comp, Lim. Check there to see where the distortion is occuring, and adjust your levels accordingly. Maybe it's too hot coming in, so reduce the source level.

If you don't want to use Normalize to increase the level, try using the make up gain on the Comp.

If it's still distorting, you may have a faulty unit.

Thanks Ron

I think that the output of the finalizer is too hot. I know that the Normalizer makes the distortion or sometimes the DRG.
I came later to the same Idea to make up the Gain with the Comp.
The Unit must be ok cause there were 2 guys of TC in my studio and took it together with them to check it.

If you believe it or not the one of them could't even hear the problem. The other guy saved me cause he realized it too.

The problem with the Finalizer is that there's no funktion to make loud like the L-2.

I think that using both of them will be cool. Wish me luck :)
