Hello all.
I am interested in purchase one of these Phonic Helix 18 FireWire Mixers, the MKI version, not the MKII.
I believe that Windows Vista is not supported by the MKI line. But there are drivers available for download for XP.
Since I run Windows Vista, I was thinking I might be able to use the Vista Compatibility Mode tool and use the Windows XP mode.
However, I do not know if this would affect the FireWire (I apologize for my lack of knowledge of FireWire...I know about USBs but am semi-new to FireWire.) I have searched the web (Yes, including this forum.) for more information about my situation, but no luck.
The only reason why I would rather purchase the MKI version is because I found a pretty good deal on it.
Any information or suggestions would be helpful.
Andrew

I don't think compatibility mode will stretch as far as drivers.

Unless you are trying to run a program that accesses the MKI which runs on XP. That *might* do the trick.

Any other ideas anyone?

I have to agree with Codemonkey on this one. Drivers are OS specific period unless otherwise stated. I would stay away from anything that doesn't have drivers for you OS (unless of course you are willing to purchase said supported OS).
