I´ve seen some videos on youtube about using a I/O plug-in for external hardware. Could this be a solution?

"An I/O plug-in" is a rather vague term.

The MG10XU only sends and receives two channels of digitised audio down its USB cable. There are more sophisticated mixers with digital outputs that will also act as a control surface for a DAW. I'm sorry to say that I don't think the MG10XU is one of those.

Do you have a link to YT showing the sort of thing you are after?

I took a look at the video you linked. It's all about using an analogue processor of some sort as a plug-in to a mix "in the box", i.e. a DAW.

Now it's possible you could do exactly this using the MG10XU by setting the switch on channels 9/10 to USB. You could, for example, play out a mono track from your DAW, put it though the effects unit on the mixer, and feed the result back into a new stereo track in the DAW.

This would be an example of using the USB connection as a bidirectional pipe for digital audio signals. It does not allow you to control the DAW operation from the mixer.

My advice, save a few more pennies and get yourself a behringer X touch or the smaller version. That Yamaha is not a controller.

looks like you can control logic with an ios or android device, this may be of interest to ya.

I've read about it, it is not a controler, just a mixer and you can send the audio via USB to your computer.
Controlers, use midi protocol communication to send instructions to the software for various fonctions. Play, rec, volume fader moves etc..
In any case anything without a transport section is worthless as controler and without motorised faders, it's limiting any automation process.
