I did a LOT of judicious editing on the above track ... paring back the percussion ... which my guitarist felt overwhelmed the piece. New mix is up on SoundCloud, and this is the updated MP3 for folks that prefer ...

So nice of you ;)
The drums sound over-compressed, your choice ?
I listen to the arrangement and can't put aside my desire of a liter mix who could breath better...

I've YOU to thank for that consideration. I didn't hear it at first. So I changed it for the better because of you.

I'm still working on it, Marco. The challenge is the balance of percussion w/ focus on drums. This song is about vocals and rhythms ... and the drums were played in a way that challenges the balance. Compression becomes tame of uneven.

Yes it's good.. There is nothing technicly wrong, but for some reasons I can't put words on, it's not quite flowing or breathing right to me. Could be that you have element that are dark and others bright or maybe it's because there is different ambiance going on and I personnaly like the band to share the same space.. Or it's just the kind of start-stop beat that's not engaging me that much.
I'm not saying your approach isn't good. It's just not reaching to me like other songs..
Thing is, the worst thing to do is trying to please me.. If it pleases yourself, you got it right !!!

It returns to how the drums were played ... he kind of plays a halting beat. Our guitarist and bass player also noticed it. He said he played it that way in order to leave more space for the percussion ... but I also think there's a "slip off the groove" quality to his performance.
