I am running a Pre-Amp to my Tascam US-428 Controller and I just want to make sure that I am bypassing the preamps in the Tascam. I am running a 1/4" from the line out of the preamp into the line in of the Tascam. Does this bypass the preamps in the Tascam?

Thanks

Thanks

Thanks a ton for the reply. I thought this was the correct method. With that being said, the question is, will the Tascam color the sound in any way running it this way? It is a Sebatron Thorax and I hate the thought of the Tascam ruining everything good that the Thorax does for the signal. If it is coloring the signal, is there any way to reduce the amount of signal alteration?

Thanks

But probably more sensible than that would be to replace the 428 with something higher up in the sound interface food chain.
The 428 is a great little unit to start with, but if you own a Thorax then your setup has already outgrown it.....
Do you have a reasonable budget? How many tracks do you need to do at once?

I only need a most 4 tracks at once. I do all the recording by myself and never record anything more than a guitar in stereo so 2 would probably be sufficient but I say 4 just in case. I use DFH for the drums and that will be that case for a long time.

My budget is lacking right now, but some suggestions across a large price range would be highly appreciated because I could always save up.

Thanks
