We have been using a roland v drum set a lot as there is no room for an acoustic kit at the moment oin my present home studio (not too mention noise issues with the neighbors). the roland drum soounds are ok but we would like to expand our drum sonic palette a bit. We do have Digital Performer and mach five and can use giga and other sample formats. Any recommendations?

Thanks guys. hey David, I went to toontracks website and they have a new version of DFH called DFH superior. It goes for like $269 at sweetwater and it has like 35 GB of samples plus three plugins "Superior drummer", 'superior percussionist" and "superior cocktail" Have you heard any of these plugins? Is it worth it paying over $100 for the DFH with the expansion?

I'm not sure about the new stuff; I just have the original. Wow. 35 GB. Hope they have it on DVD. Soon, they're gonna start selling sample libraries on hard drives!
Yeah, for sure! I ordered from sweetwater- should be here anytime- with the plugins you get the kits in multi-track form- kick, snare, OH, etc. You are even supposed to be able to even control the amount of bleed from the other tracks! My drummer Steve is really excited about it and he says that we are getting some rare and expensive sampled instruments in this collection. We've been recording the production we've been working on- "elrod geare" (which is a jazz/rock/latin hybrid project) using his V drums. If the new DFH is all is supposed to be I can see us spending the next few sessions changing all the drum sounds! :D
