I got some help from the DUC. They said that if I consolidate eack track after all the edits, this function writes a new track to disk then all I have to do is get the new file and change the file/extension name to what the HD24 can read. DONE! :D :D

Yep exactly right, consolidating the track does the trick.

I usually consolidate regions when I finnish a track but I never noticed that it creates another audio file. I suppose that when you stop and think about it, it's obvious :roll:

Consolidating regions is something that can be quite helpfull, especially if you're running low on CPU power. Things like crossfades can be power hungry and consolidating might just give you that extra little bit that makes all the difference.

Another one to consider... If you want to keep the original regions in tact, first duplicate playlist on all the tracks, then use the audiosuite plug "duplicate" to make a new file for each track. This has the added benefit of using "entire selection" and selecting across all the tracks at once in order to get every file to have the same start time. To export without the extra files, save as a new name and delete all the unused playlists, and remove (NOT DELETE) all unused regions.

I have had the 001 for some time now but I have used it very little. The reason being, it was just a pain trying to get tracks in and out of it (you know the "built in limitations") but with the HD24 I can use the file transfer feature which works very well. The Alesis converters don't sound that bad, much better than the XT20's and if I start out on the 2" they really sound rather (I know I will probably catch hell from most) good. At least these budget boxes work together to give me some very powerful tools to use. LOVE IT!

I would like to know if anyone knows anything about the book Digi is selling for learning to use 001. Would it be worth the cost to have one?

You can download the first chapter from the Digi website. Haven't done it myself yet so i can't tell you what's in it. I too am interested to hear from anyone who has the book.
