I was wondering if there are any decent amplifiers to power a set of monitor's for around $500 max. They are JBL 4312's. I would obviously like to step it up to something like a Bryston, but I simply can't. Saving up for something nice is not an option. This gear buying has to stop. I don't have an appropriate room and I don't even have the option of turning them up extremely loud so I just need something to get by for a while, as much as I hate doing that. All I have right now is a fricking reciever for a home theater system.

So is there anything decent in this price range? I know its a crime, but I gotta get something.

Thanks

Brett

Thanks for the reply. I have been noticing that there are numerous different types of 3b's. 3B, 3B ST, 3B NPB, 3B SST.

Now, I know that the SST is out of my range, but here is the question. Are the older model Brystons good? I mean about 10 yrs old or so. Would something like that suit my purposes?

Thanks

Brett

Certainly.

Actually, if you can find one that's only ten years old, you'll still have ten more years of warranty left on it.

They don't mess around with the warranty... 8-) 20 years, any owner. As long as they can read the serial number.

Also, if you find a used one - If you can get the serial, e-mail it to Bryston. They'll get back to you on the age of the unit and if there is any warranty left on it.
