Hello. I'm a pretty new kid on the block to logic, although I'm in college currently for Music REcording technology. I've been recording casually for awhile but I'm just now getting serious about it.
Anyways. My drummer was HAIRS off on his performance, so I tried the old fashion way of grouping everything together and cutting and moving. BUT. The x-fades don't work at all. Obviously I'm just cutting dragging and moving and other regions over and letting the crossfade make a smooth transition. If I go to any other track on the song x-fades work fine. All the drum data won't let x-fades work. In the inspector, all I see is "Loop". ALSO, flex time won't let me slice up the drums and move stuff around either. I've done it before, but recently on this song it hasn't been working. Gah. I'm so fustrated and I just want to do it right. Quantizing scares me enough as it is, and I really just want to know how to get out of this pickle.
ANY help would be great. Thanks!

Do you have multiple takes anywhere on the track? If you do, click on the right side top of the track region (menu) and pick "flatten and merge". Then you'll be able to enable flex editing in the inspector and be able to quantize and flex edit.
DAWs are all personal preference. Logic is great... I don't care for Cubase myself.

Have a look at Cubase 6 drum editing demo and keep a box of hankies close...
