I USE P4PE RAID MOBO...IT HAS 3 RAM SLOTS AND IT SUPPORTS UP TO 2 GIGS RAM...MY QUESTION IS IT: IF ON THE FIRST AND SECOND SLOTS I USE 2 STICKS OF 512 MB...ON THE THIRD HOW MANY RAMS MAY I USE?
THANKS...

And yes, that Caps lock is a nasty disease!
Anyhue....First rule of thumb, always put the larger stick in the first DIMM slot then the smaller amount afterwards....
Now, certain motherboards you need to pay attention to the third DIMM slot. Some will only allow single sided if you have two double sided before it! Otherwise the computer may not boot!
From the Asus Manual:
DDR DIMM Sockets 2 and 3 share the same
rows, so if you install a double-sided
DIMM into DIMM2 socket, you must leave
DIMM3 socket empty
You may install single-sided DIMMS
into DIMM2 and DIMM3 sockets at the same
time but neither one can be x16 DDR
module.
Double-sided x16 DDR DIMMs are not
supported on this motherboard.
So do take caution as to how you do configure your memory. I have seen cases where the larger stickes insterted after the smaller sticks cause crackling or oddities in performance!

Hmmm, that's interesting. I gotta check my system. I was pretty sure that I have (at least in one of them) an odd combination of 128MB and 2x256 MB and I am pretty sure that they are not in order ...
Is this a P4 thing, fully dependent on the MoBo or does it have to do with the size of the memories ? Mine is an AMD and a ECS MoBo ...
Anyway, looks like I learned something. :D

Hey, looks like your CAPS LOCK key got stuck ... you might want to have that checked sometime ;) . Looks nasty ...
Anyway, you can put 1 stick of 1GB into the third slot. Shouldn't matter whether the size is in order or not - whatever adds up to 2GB should work (if they are all fast enough, of course).
