Hi Folks. Does anyone know what materials they are using to build these panels and how they are constructed? To me it looks like they are using some kind of vinyl material for the membrane. I would order from them and do my whole studio space, but I'm located in Canada and the currency exchange on top of shipping and duty fees will really kill the wallet for no good reason. Id rather just try and DIY my own and get similar results. Obviously they won't be as good at the GIK stuff because they clearly know what they're doing.

The plywood is a construction piece to hold the frame together and alow the user a way to install the panel via french cleat or direct to the wall or better to use a minimum 3:1 ratio standoff to not only support the panel but to increase the frequency range the panel works at.
The mlv (mass loaded vinyl) is theoretically responsible for low frequency attenuation....if it works is a guess at this point.

Hey! I know I'm bumping a very old thread here, but I hope it's still possible to get some feedback here.
I've got some questions:
Is this drawing of an actual GIK Monster Bass Trap construction?
Does anyone know the dimensions used for the rigid insulation?
The cloth face is drawn so thick - but is it just regular acoustic transparent fabric? Or are we talking filt, jeans insulation or something like that?
Anyone ever dissected one of these to see what's inside? I can't get them where I live.
