After hours of trying to replace a 60G audio drive with a 180G/8M buffer onto an XP machine, come to realize it just ain't gonna happen (too many issues to list here...)

Anyway, so I was looking to add a FW port, but only have 3 PCI slots, all taken..

So now the plan is to replace USB 1.1 with 2.0...please tell me its a mere matter of software (although I have the bad feeling its hardware. )

To sum it up - I really need to speed up backups/archives/file retreival/etc...and am hoping to not need a whole new system...

(Gurus-if you represent a well know DAW builder, feel free to contact me and let me spec what I am looking for...)
