The easiest way is hold "DEL" when your computer POSTS (when you first turn on your PC). This will get you into the CMOS. If your motherboard supports CPU temp monitoring there should be a "PC Health Status" or something in the menu. Going in here will give you fan speeds and the temp.

You can also download Sisoft's Sandra application. The CPU/BIOS information module will give you the current temp as read by the motherboard or the cpu's thermal diode.

I am about to receive for my review a Silence Case to quiet the fan noise in my studio and I wanted to run a CPU temp test to assure that the computer wasn't being subjected to higher temps and so I could relay this info on to readers. I was hoping there was a way to achieve a test while I was running audio. Thanks for the answer. Fats

Fats, there is frequently a utility included on the motherboard software disk that allows you to view that info from the GUI. I think Opus or someone else said that these programs are not all that accurate but it may be close enough for the comparison. HTH

Fats...the BIOS will give you a good general idea on what's up and indeed the Asus Probe will do you just fine if you want to the GUI approach.
