I have a PC Intel 2 GHz, 256 RAM, Sonar XL 2.1, Audigy Platinium 2,
Mixer Mackie 1202-VLZ PRO 12 Channel.

I record my sax playing with a background in MP3 that I input to Sonar as a track.

But when I play the song, the sound of the sax is not in sync with the background.

Can someone tell me what is the problem. Or at least indicate a software that can show me where is the bottleneck in the PC.

Thanks...

The problem lies with the soundblaster cards. There very famous for doing that with audio recording programs. Those cards don't have the buffering capabilities to maintain the sync with audio and newly recorded audio. What's most likely happening is that the buffer setting is not set right so that it's recording it later than what you hear.
I would try and mess around with the buffer settings and or get yourself a better sound card

Patricio,

In my experience, Sound Blaster products should be able to handle a little load like you are talking about. I believe it is your latency settings. Go to the Audio settings and try lowering the latency slider. I used to record with a SB Live, which is not as good as your card, on a PC that was much older and not as good as your pc and had no such sync problems once I played around with the audio settings.

Good luck!
