Hi. I'm presently using the standard Microsoft XP Pro drivers to control my hard drives.

I've heard tell there may be better options.

Anyone have any experience with the Intel Application Accelerator drivers? Intel makes some strong claims for these drivers; the company seems like it's on a roll with its mobos and processors so they could well be true.

Other suggestions?

Thanks in advance

No, don't install the IAA!! It's not good for Audio applicational use! It actually slows you down and limits your options on changing any preference of the drives!!!

Just keep the drivers the system loads with!

Trust me on this one. I've done several bench marking tests and found the IAA does not do any good

Yeah, that seems to be the way the wind's blowing on AA. The way Intel is innovating elsewhere makes you think AA coulda been a contenda, but you can't be cool all the time, I guess.

Do you know if MS has updated the IDE drivers in XP Pro Service Pack One? Are they called "Ultra ATA drivers" or something like that? Any improvements from them? And if I may sneak in an SP1 question, how about "yea or nay?"
